I’ve seen a really cool shift in how my girlfriends 1) use their time and 2) use their buying power. Or perhaps there wasn’t a shift, maybe I am just older, more aware, and reflect on these sort of things now.
Regardless, I’ve seen the tribe around me doing some pretty amazing things.
One of these lovely ladies is the beauty and brains behind Free Thirty Three Yoga Design Co.
Confession: I’ve never met Shawna in person. She is a friend of my best friend’s little brother. He connected us a few years back, and her story sounds familiar.
Shawna is a stunningly gorgeous traveling fool.
She is a yoga instructor, and seeks to live a life that aligns with the principals of yoga.
She makes “scary” decisions because she is listening to her gut.
Oftentimes reason and rationale like to remind us of past failures, fears, and what-about-my-bank-account nightmares.
She quit her corporate career of ten years to pursue something that deeply matters to her.
She sold all of her earthly possessions and left her homeland of Canada for Japan. In the craziness that is Tokyo, she found herself quiet and still. And she began to listen.
Her yoga design company was born from this space of stillness, reflection, and a desire to impact others deeply.
In her owns words, “Free Thirty Three is a calling to take that leap. You can live your life with authentic purpose and let your dreams come alive. We want to encourage others to challenge the status quo and look outside the conventional box. We live in a world today where anything is possible, so start that business, take that trip, send that email, be true to what is in your heart. Rumi, a wise mentor once said, “Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love, it will not lead you astray.” From my experience it has set me free.”
I have been practicing on one of Free Thirty Three’s beautiful yoga mats for the past month. For this hot-yoga-loving yogi, it has been fabulous! When you sweat, it only gets better – zero slipping or movement on the mat. I get more compliments on its color and design than any other mat I’ve owned! And Free Thirty Three has committed to planting a tree for every single mat purchased. Each time you arrive on your mat, you can do so with good KARMA!
This baby is:
made of 100% Natural Tree Rubber,
Water-Based, Fade-Resistant Inks, and
PVC, Chlorine, Silicone, Phthalates FREE!
Shawna’s story nudged me to look at the women around me and what they are doing with their time & talents, their hearts, their energy, and their wallets.
Here are just a few of the AMAZING women I am honored to call my FRIENDS! Go check them out! While Free Thirty Three did give me a yoga mat, these words and opinions in my post are my own. I’d highly recommend this as a gift for any yogi in your life!
Commence shout outs!
These successful businesses are changing people’s lives, and they just happen to be founded by and run by women. Many are solopreneurs – kicking ass on their own!
