That beautiful bowl of healthy deliciousness, my friends, comes to from Lucky Robot Japanese Kitchen on South Congress!
Confession: this place is no longer new to me! I am behind in life, behind in work, and well…behind in blogging! Day by day…
I have since been to Lucky Robot a handful of times because I can order many things from the menu depending on how healthy I want (or don’t want) to be or if I am in the middle of one of my detox programs. They have never frowned on my requests for changes to dishes or my emphatic “sauce on the side” after every order. I cannot always say that after trying somewhere new!
Selections this particular day included a Build Your Own Bowl with tons of fresh veggies, grilled shrimp, and steamed brown rice. The teriyaki sauce was so rich, just a dip of my fork in it every few bites was more than enough to enjoy the flavor without consuming all the sugar. We also ordered sashimi yellowtail tuna and a mixed greens salad with radish sprouts, carrots, green onion, avocado, crispy shallots, & ginger-carrot dressing.
Colorful, (generally) detox approved, and yummy. Sit outside on the sidewalk ‘patio’ and get in your South Austin people watching! There is never a shortage of 80’s mom jorts, funky hair, friendly pups, or smiling faces. I love this city.
