Warning: This is not a vegetarian or vegan friendly installment of New Food Tuesday!
That said, Salt & Time is doing meat right.
This full service butcher shop, salumeria, and restaurant sources sustainable meats from Texas ranches. Aside from fresh cuts of meat, S&T offers all house made salumi and charcuterie, local jams, chocolates, olive oil, beer, and wine.
It feels clean when you walk inside. Dark wood and stainless steel line the floors and walls. It smells like freshly baked buttery cornbread and not raw meat. Win win.
I had to venture over to the eclectic east side to check out Salt & Time. I highly recommend stopping in for their Sunday brunch.
The crispy fried chicken looked divine. Does something fried qualify as divine? I wanted to eat just the crusty bits, but it was not my order!
I tried the jam and toast, simply because the jam o’ the day sounded interesting: green tomato jam. Barely sweet, this was the perfect selection for my non-sugar diet this month. Pay no attention to the white bread toast!
More food news from the east side soon!
